Singer / songwriter from Blackpool. Writing and singing her own songs since her early teens, Jess is a self taught guitarist and pianist and her original material appeals to all ages as the catchy melodies of her songs linger in the memory.

Jess had been musical from early on: “I used to have piano lessons when I was about 11 but then gave up, I wish I hadn’t.”  She started writing songs properly after leaving school: “I went to Blackpool and Fylde College to do Music Performance. One of the assignments we got set was to write and perform your own song so that was my first attempt at writing and performing.”

The final piece in the proverbial jigsaw came in the form of an acoustic guitar, a gift from her parents for her 18th birthday. “I needed a way to express my song writing ideas so I decided to teach myself using the internet and YouTube”- not the most conventional way but Harwood is evidently a ‘do-it-yourself’ kind of artist.

“I’ve always loved music and wanted a career in music. I couldn’t see myself doing anything else to be honest.”

Jess performs regularly with The Classic Rock Show and Rumours of Fleetwood Mac.
