From the official Classic Rock Show website:
When and where were you born? 13th January 1988 in Ashford, Kent, although I grew up in Neston, on the Wirral.
When did you start to play? I started playing guitar when I was 7, saxophone when I was 11 have dabbled with other instruments ever since. I've always sung, but started to take my voice seriously as an instrument around the time I left music college.
Tell us about some of your previous projects. I started playing professionally with local soul bands when I was 14. I studied Jazz at Leeds College of Music, playing in the award-winning LCM Big Band on Baritone Sax whilst I was there, amongst other things. Since leaving college I've worked as session musician for a variety of artists either as a sax player or guitarist. The eclectic list of people I have played for include 60s icons Georgie Fame and The Flirtations and in the last couple of years I've worked as a sax player for Interscope artist Jamie N Commons, on one occasion opening for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band. I also did some arrangements for his appearance on The Jimmy Kimmel Show in 2013. Recently I've worked with Manchester's Kaleidoscope Orchestra as a collaborator and arranger, and I currently write and play for up and coming pop artist AJ Brown. As a songwriter I write my own material, and have also worked as a writer for corporate clients.
Who are your influences? Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, James Taylor, Eagles, Sting, Steely Dan, Toto, The Doobie Brothers, B.B. King, Steve Cropper
If you had to take one album to your desert island, what would it be and why? Billy Joel – The Stranger
What gear do you tour with? I play Yanagisawa Saxophones. On Alto I use a Meyer mouthpiece with Vandoren ZZ reeds. I'll play whatever guitar I can get my hands on. Shure Beta microphones are great.
One obscure interesting fact about yourself. Corrine Bailey Rae once overheard a rude story I was telling (with actions) in a bar and she was visibly offended.
